Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity is the recognition that human minds naturally exist on a diverse spectrum of neurological traits and abilities. Just as biodiversity is crucial for a thriving ecosystem, neurodiversity enriches our society.

Rather than viewing neurological differences as deficits, neurodiversity highlights their unique strengths and perspectives. This concept encourages acceptance, understanding, and equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their cognitive variations.

By embracing neurodiversity, we create a more inclusive world where every mind is valued and contributes to a tapestry of innovation, creativity, and shared human experience.

Assessment of neurodiversity

  • We are committed to providing you with a comprehensive and evidence-based assessment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Our assessment process is rooted in the latest research and utilises well-established tools to ensure accurate and insightful results.

Our team of experienced clinicians will conduct a thorough evaluation, which may include standardised assessments, direct observation, interviews, and developmental history analysis.

We understand the unique needs of each individual, and our approach is tailored to provide a holistic understanding of your strengths, challenges, and developmental profile.

The information gathered from our assessment will not only assist in confirming a diagnosis but will also guide personalised intervention strategies and support recommendations.

We believe in empowering you with a clear and in-depth understanding of your situation, and our evidence-based assessment is designed to provide you with the knowledge and insights needed to make informed decisions for your well-being or that of your loved one.

  • We provide assistance to Tamariki and young adults in understanding their unique learning styles and any potential challenges they may encounter, such as dyslexia.

Our approach is straightforward and rooted in research. Our friendly team of experts dedicates time to getting to know individuals, often through enjoyable activities and conversations. We might also incorporate puzzles or pose questions related to their interests. Recognising that everyone imbibes knowledge differently, our aim is to ascertain the most effective learning methods for the Tamariki.

Our assessments diverge from conventional school tests. There's no concern over right or wrong answers. Our primary goal is to observe cognitive functionality and the attributes that distinguish each individual. Occasionally, we may observe reading or puzzle-solving abilities. This process mirrors that of a detective, unravelling the intricacies of cognitive processes.

Following the assessment, we initiate discussions with the Tamariki and their whaanau. We share the insights gained about their learning approaches. This helps shed light on why certain aspects might pose challenges and offers suggestions to facilitate smoother and more enjoyable learning experiences.

Ultimately, our goal is to empower Tamariki to excel in both academic pursuits and life by equipping them with indispensable tools and guidance.
