Dr Mona Ghanbari

PSYCHOLOGIST – PHD, MA (HONS), PGDIPPP, NZPSS

Mona holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand, with a primary focus on neuroassessment and mindfulness. With an extensive career spanning both private and public sectors, Mona has dedicated much of her professional life to working with children, adolescents (including at-risk youth), and young adults. Her practice as a qualified psychologist extends beyond New Zealand to international settings.

Specialising in psychological assessment and treatment, Mona addresses a diverse range of challenges including expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Trauma, Emotional Dysregulation, Depression, and Anxiety Disorder.                                  

Mona's client base represents diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, including Middle Eastern, Asian, Pākehā, Māori, and Pacific clients, along with their whānau/families. Additionally, she holds the distinction of being the first registered psychologist in New Zealand fluent in speaking Persian/Farsi.
